Initial Appointment and Consultation

This Brisbane Vein Clinic is a Specialist Clinic and you will need a referral from your General Practitioner or another Specialist in order to make an appointment.

The initial consultation consists of a detailed medical history, particularly with regard to allergies, current medication, past operations, past and present illnesses, and personal and family history of clotting disorders. Clinical assessment of the varicose veins is carried out. Arrangements are made for ultrasound examination of the affected leg/s. Usually a separate appointment has to be made for this as the detailed ultrasound examination of the veins in each leg takes about 40-60minutes. At a subsequent appointment Dr Campbell will explain the ultrasound findings and finalise the plan of treatment.
